How to Make Your Mold for Custom Grillz

Welcome to Moissanite Grillz Shop! To craft your perfect custom grillz, we need an accurate mold of your teeth. Follow these step-by-step instructions to make the mold at home.

What’s Included in Your Mold Kit:

  • 2 different colored putties (Base and Catalyst)
  • 1 plastic tray
  • 1 zip-lock bag
  • Instruction sheet

If you already have a mold from a dentist, you can send us that mold instead of making a new one.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preparation

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and dry them.
  • Lay out all the materials from the mold kit.

Step 2: Mixing the Putty

  • Take one piece of each colored putty (Base and Catalyst) and mix them together in your hands for 15-20 seconds until you get a uniform color.
  • Roll the mixed putty into a ball and then shape it into a log.

Step 3: Filling the Tray

  • Place the log-shaped putty into the tray, spreading it towards the front of the tray where your teeth will be.
  • Make sure the putty is well-distributed to cover all teeth when you take the impression.

Step 4: Taking the Impression

  • Open your mouth wide and pull your lips away from your teeth.
  • Insert the tray into your mouth and push it straight up (for top grillz) or straight down (for bottom grillz) until your teeth are fully embedded in the putty.
  • Ensure the putty covers your gum line.
  • Hold the tray in place for 3-4 minutes without moving or talking.

Step 5: Removing the Tray

  • Gently wiggle the tray and pull it downwards (for top mold) or upwards (for bottom mold) to remove it.
  • Inspect the impression to ensure it captures all teeth and the gum line clearly. If the impression is not good, use the extra putty to try again. Feel free to text us a picture of your mold at 281-683-9348 to ensure it is adequate.

Step 6: Preparing for Shipment

  • Place the mold into the provided zip-lock bag.
  • Include your order form in your package when return shipping your molds.

Step 7: Shipping the Mold

  • Ship the mold back to us using a reliable shipping service. You can choose USPS, FedEx, UPS, or any international shipping agency.
  • Clearly write our address and your return address on the shipping box.
